Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Label Ready Hub.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Label Ready Hub (“Label Ready Hub”, “we”, “us”), run by Joshua Dorgans, is an online marketplace that connects music producers (“students”) with independent music professionals (“mentors”) for one-to-one and group sessions, and sells digital resources. These terms apply whenever you use www.labelreadyhub.uk: browsing, creating an account, booking, buying, mentoring or posting. By doing any of those you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
2. Who can use Label Ready Hub
- You must be 18 or over, and an adult where you live, to create an account or book a session. Label Ready Hub is not for anyone under 18, and we will close any account we believe belongs to someone younger.
- Give accurate information, keep your login secure, and don’t share your account. You are responsible for everything done through it.
- We may refuse, suspend or close an account where these terms allow.
3. Our role: a marketplace
We provide the platform for discovery, booking, payment and communication. The session itself is an agreement between the student and the mentor. We are not a party to it, and mentors are independent professionals, not our employees, agents or partners. We review mentors when they apply, but we do not control, and are not responsible for, what a mentor says or does in a session, the quality of their advice, or their availability. Mentors are responsible for their own conduct, advice, taxes and for complying with the law where they are.
4. Mentors
- Anyone may apply. Approval is at our discretion, doesn’t guarantee bookings or income, and may be withdrawn. We may suspend or remove a listing, including for conduct that harms students or the platform.
- Keep your profile accurate. Only post music, clips and credits you have the right to use.
- We charge a commission on each paid session and product: 15% on the standard tier, or 3% on the optional VIP membership, which is billed monthly and can be cancelled from your dashboard. Current rates are also listed in the FAQ.
- Payments are taken on your own Stripe connected account. By onboarding you also agree to Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement. Payouts are released after the session’s scheduled end, and may be held while a no-show report, dispute or chargeback is open. We may recover confirmed refunds, no-show refunds and chargebacks from your earnings.
- Keep every student you meet here on Label Ready Hub for bookings and payment. Taking students private breaks section 8, and can close your account and cost you held payouts.
5. Bookings and payments
- Prices are set by mentors (or by us, for our own products) and shown in US dollars before you pay. The price you see is the total you pay: we don’t add a booking fee or any other charge at checkout. Your bank may charge for currency conversion.
- Each mentor sells their own sessions and products as an independent trader, and is responsible for any tax on them. Session and mentor product payments go straight to the mentor’s own Stripe account, and we take our commission from each payment.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. A booking is confirmed only once payment succeeds.
- Promo codes follow the conditions shown with them, can’t be exchanged for cash, and may be withdrawn.
- Packages are booked one session at a time and don’t expire while the mentor remains on Label Ready Hub. A gift code can be redeemed once, by one account; keep it safe, as we can’t replace a code someone else has already used.
6. Cancellations and refunds
- Your cancellation cut-off is your mentor’s booking notice. Each mentor sets how far ahead sessions must be booked, from 1 hour to 1 week. It’s shown before you pay, and the cut-off for your booking is fixed when you book: if the mentor changes their notice later, your booking keeps the one it was made with.
- You cancel at least that long before the start: cancel from your dashboard and the payment is refunded in full to the original card, or the session goes back into your package.
- You cancel later than that: the session is cancelled but not refunded, because by then nobody else can book that time.
- Your mentor cancels, or can’t offer a new time that works for you: you get a full refund.
- Refunds usually reach your account within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
- If something exceptional happens, contact us. We may refund at our discretion. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded by agreement.
7. No-shows and lateness
Students: please be ready at the start time. If you haven’t joined within 15 minutes of a live session’s start and haven’t messaged your mentor, the mentor may treat the session as a no-show. A student no-show counts as a delivered session and is not refunded or rescheduled.
If your mentor doesn’t show: message them first, since a session running late is usually just that. If they still haven’t joined within 15 minutes, report it with “Mentor didn’t show up” on your dashboard within 48 hours of the session’s scheduled end. Your mentor is asked to confirm or dispute the report within 48 hours, and we review the messages between you, any recording and both accounts’ history before deciding. Where a mentor no-show is confirmed you get a full refund, taken from the mentor’s earnings for that session, or the session is added back to your package. Reports made after the 48-hour window may not be eligible. Knowingly false reports breach these terms.
Mentors: if you can’t make a session, reschedule with the student as early as possible. While a report is open the payout for that session is held. Confirmed no-shows are refunded from that session’s earnings, recorded against your listing, lower your ranking, and repeated no-shows may lead to removal.
8. Keeping bookings and payments on Label Ready Hub
Label Ready Hub provides everything around a session: bringing students and mentors together, booking, payment, scheduling, reminders, messaging, reviews, and the refund and no-show protection in sections 6 and 7. That only works if relationships that start here stay here. This section applies to students and mentors alike.
- The rule. If you found or first contacted another user through Label Ready Hub, you must book and pay for every session, piece of feedback and product with them through Label Ready Hub for 12 months after that first contact. You must not ask for, offer or accept payment outside the platform; share email addresses, phone numbers, payment details or messaging-app handles to arrange that; offer or ask for a discount to book somewhere else; or, as a mentor, send students to your own website, store or booking page for anything you offer here.
- What’s fine. Links to your released music and public artist profiles, links to tracks and files for a session, and the meeting link for a session booked here.
- How we check. To protect people from scams and enforce this rule, we automatically check messages, session briefs and mentor profiles for contact details, payment details and arrangements to move off the platform. A match may show you a reminder or warning and is reviewed by our team, who may read the conversation it came from. Our Privacy Policy explains more.
- What happens if you break it. Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, we may warn you, remove content, restrict messaging or booking, cancel upcoming bookings and refund the student, suspend your account, or close it permanently. If we close your account for breaking this rule, you are banned from Label Ready Hub: you may not create, use or control another account under any name or email address, and any account we reasonably believe is yours, now or in the future, will be closed without notice.
- Held funds and credit may be lost. When we suspend or close an account under this section, to the extent the law allows: payouts we are holding for you may be withheld and applied to refunds, chargebacks, the commission lost on sessions moved off the platform and our reasonable costs of investigating, so you may lose some or all of them; and any account balance, credits, referral rewards, promotional sessions and unused promo value are forfeited and can’t be exchanged for cash. Money a student paid for sessions that haven’t happened yet is refunded under section 6.
- Tell us. If someone asks you to book or pay outside Label Ready Hub, report it to support@labelreadyhub.uk. Sessions arranged or paid outside the platform aren’t covered by our refund, cancellation or no-show rules, and we can’t help if something goes wrong.
9. Digital products and your licence to use them
When you buy or claim a download (such as a DAW template, sample pack, presets, MIDI or a guide) from Label Ready Hub or a mentor:
- You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it in your own music productions, including releases you sell, unless the product page says otherwise. You don’t need to credit the seller unless the product page asks you to.
- You may not resell, share, give away, upload to sample libraries or file-sharing sites, or otherwise redistribute the files themselves, on their own or inside another product, template or pack, or claim them as your own work.
- Mentor products are sold by the mentor, who confirms they own or have the right to license everything in them. A mentor may set additional licence terms on the product page, and those apply to that product.
- Downloads are available immediately, so purchases are non-refundable once downloaded, unless the file is faulty or not as described, or the law where you live requires otherwise.
- Download links are personal to your account. Breaking these rules ends your licence and may close your account.
10. Your content
- You keep ownership of the music, files, messages, posts, reviews and profile content you share (“your content”).
- You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display and transmit your content only as needed to run and promote Label Ready Hub, for example showing your forum posts or a mentor’s public profile. It ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or that others have already received.
- You confirm you have the rights to what you upload, and that it doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights.
- Mentors must not share, release, sample or reuse a student’s unreleased music or files without written permission. Nobody may record, post or share a session without the other person’s consent.
11. Community, conduct and reporting
Critique the track, not the person. You must not harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone; post illegal, hateful, sexual or violent content; spam; impersonate anyone; post other people’s personal information; upload material you don’t have the rights to; upload malware; scrape the site; interfere with its security; or try to avoid payments or fees, including by moving bookings or payment off the platform (see section 8). We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.
Reporting content. If you see a post, message, profile or anything else on Label Ready Hub that you think is illegal or breaks these terms, report it through the support form (choose “Report content or a user”) or email support@labelreadyhub.uk, with a link to it and what is wrong. You don’t need an account to report. We review every report, remove illegal content as soon as we become aware of it, and act on anything else that breaks these terms. If we remove your content or restrict your account, we’ll tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety prevents it.
Complaints and appeals. If you disagree with a decision we made about your content or account, or about how we handled a report, reply to our message or email support@labelreadyhub.uk. Someone who didn’t make the original decision where possible will look at it again, and we’ll reply with the outcome. Joshua Dorgans is responsible for how we meet our duties under the UK Online Safety Act.
Reviews. Only a student whose paid session has taken place can review it, once per booking. We don’t pay for, reward or edit reviews, mentors can’t remove them, and we don’t hide negative ones. We remove reviews that are fake, abusive, off-topic or break these terms, and you can report any review you think is fake.
12. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on Label Ready Hub infringes your copyright, email support@labelreadyhub.uk with the material’s location, the work you own, and your contact details. We will remove material that infringes and may close the accounts of repeat infringers.
13. Label Ready Academy, partners and other sites
Label Ready Academy runs on Skool, and partner deals are offered by other companies. Each has its own terms. Some partner links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission at no cost to you. We are not responsible for third-party sites, products or services.
14. No guarantee of results
Sessions and resources offer feedback and advice based on people’s own experience. They are not a promise of a label signing, a release, streams, income or any other outcome. A mentor’s advice is their own opinion, not ours.
The same goes for co-signs. Booking a session, or any number of sessions, never guarantees a mentor’s co-sign on a demo, and co-signs cannot be bought. Whether to give one is entirely the mentor’s decision, and a co-signed demo is still reviewed by the label on its own merits.
15. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, Label Ready Hub is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it running, but we don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or secure.
16. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data, opportunities or goodwill; we are not liable for the acts, omissions or advice of mentors or students; and our total liability for any claim relating to Label Ready Hub is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to us (our commission or our own products) in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for losses caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
17. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from claims brought by others that arise from your content, your breach of these terms, or, if you are a mentor, the sessions and products you provide.
18. Suspension and closing your account
Students can delete their account from Settings. Mentors can close theirs by contacting support, so upcoming sessions can be handed off first. We may suspend or close an account for a breach of these terms, suspected fraud, chargeback abuse, ban evasion, or where the law requires. Where the breach is of section 8, the consequences set out there also apply. Sections that by their nature should continue after an account closes (including 8, 9, 10, 14 to 17 and 20) continue to apply.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform changes. When a change is material, we will ask you to review and accept the updated terms the next time you use your account. If you don’t accept them, you can stop using Label Ready Hub and close your account.
20. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If a dispute arises, please contact us first; most problems are solved quickly that way. Disputes that can’t be resolved informally will be handled by the courts of Ontario. If you use Label Ready Hub as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live. For example, consumers in the UK can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
